Year 2 Assembly

Year 2 led our school prayers on Wednesday and spoke beautifully about friendship – what it means to be a good friend and who their good friends are!

They reminded us that we all have a loving friend in Jesus and that He calls us to be His friends by living our lives in the way that He taught us.

Well done Year 2 – you were all amazing and your singing was absolutely beautiful!

Year 4 Assembly

No matter how far we wander, He will always run to welcome us back.

Year 4 led our whole school assembly this week and spoke beautifully about the male role models in their lives. They shared the story of the prodigal son and reminded us that God is our ever loving father in Heaven, who loves us always and at all times, no matter what!

We wish you all a wonderful Father’s Day filled with love and happiness!

Holy Spirit Streamers

Year 1 have been thinking about the Holy Spirit and made streamers to help them think about how even though we can’t see the Holy Spirit, it is always with us – just like the wind!

First Holy Communion

Congratulations to all the children who received the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time yesterday. The children and their families have worked so very hard over the past few months and certainly deserved a day of
celebration. Many, many thanks to everyone who helped make yesterday so a special day for the children. We pray that yesterday will be the first day of many times the children will receive this sacrament as they journey through
life.

Year 1 Assembly

It was lovely to welcome parents back in to school for our class assemblies once again and the children were so excited to have family and friends listening to them as they shared a very important message.

Year 1 spoke to everyone about the many gifts that we receive from God, and shared the message that we should share our gifts with the world and not hide them away!

The children all read and sang beautifully and everyone was incredibly proud of how confident they were!

KS1 Stations of the Cross

Year 5 led our Year 1 and 2 children through the stations of the cross brilliantly. The children each received a sheet so that they could collect stickers as the walked with Jesus through his last steps on earth.

Year 5 explained each station to the children and after some reflection, they received a sticker to add to their collection. This was a wonderful way to introduce some of our youngest children in school to the Way of the Cross.

Thank you Year 5 for all of your hard work, you delivered the sessions incredibly and both Sister Margaret and Father Gaskin commented on how wonderful you all were.

Passion Play

A huge well done to our year 4 children and staff who led us in this year’s Easter Passion Play. You were all amazing and we are all so proud of you.

The Season of Lent calls us to place our faith and hope in the Lord, since only if we fix our gaze on the risen Christ will we be able to respond to the Apostle’s appeal, “Let us never grow tired of doing good” (Gal 6:9).

Year 3 – Learning about Maundy Thursday

Year 3 have been learning all about Holy Week and enjoyed dressing up to act out some of the events of Maundy Thursday. They reenacted the Passover meal that Jesus shared with His friends before He died and thought about the words that Jesus spoke.

They then remembered how Jesus washed the feet of His disciples and gave them a new commandment to love one another, just as He loved them.

“Love each other as I love you. You must always help one another. No one is more important than anyone else.”

Lenten Liturgy 2022 – Saint John Vianney’s

A big thank you to the Year 4 children that represented our school so wonderfully at Saint John Vianney’s for the annual Blackpool Family of Schools Lenten Liturgy.

You were all fabulous and it was lovely to be able to meet with other children and schools again to celebrate and pray together!
